On 3 November 2025, BirdLife Malta hosted the first multiplier event of ROOTED at Salina Nature Reserve, in collaboration with CareMalta Group. More than 40 residents of local care facilities took part. Guided by BirdLife Malta staff, volunteers and young members of the Nature Guardians programme, they went birdwatching, discovered local wildlife and joined a creative workshop to make nature-inspired decorations for their care home gardens. The young Nature Guardians supported the residents throughout, and the day included remarks by the chief executives of BirdLife Malta and CareMalta Group and by the Maltese government’s representative for European funds.
